Join us for the 17th edition of the Grimpée cycliste on the Route de l'Opinel: a 15-km race starting in Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne, passing through Gévoudaz (the intermediate sprint stage), and finishing to the sound of music at Place Opinel in Albiez-Montrond!

A winding climb paying homage to the sharp blade of the famous Opinel knife and its origins in the village of Albiez-Montrond. OPINEL Cycling Climb: Race bib pickup and start at Place de la Cathédrale, heading toward the Opinel roundabout in Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne, with the finish at Place Opinel in the town of Albiez-Montrond. The 15-km timed climb begins at the Opinel roundabout in Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne, passes through the hamlet of Gévoudaz in front of the first knife factory, and ends at Place Opinel, in the heart of the village of Albiez-Montrond. For more information, contact the Opinel Museum. Race bibs can be picked up starting at 8:45 a.m. at Place de la Cathédrale in Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne. Mass start at 10:00 a.m. Intermediate sprint in Gévoudaz for the “Vintage” category. Race open to all. Non-licensed participants (M/F) aged 18 and older, and licensed participants (M/F) starting from the minime category. License, medical certificate, or health questionnaire required. Helmets are mandatory. Each participant will receive an Opinel knife. And this summer, the finish will be accompanied by music on Place Opinel; musicians performing at the Celti’cimes festival will treat riders and spectators to a few songs.
