Description
On the Route des Fromages de Savoie, in summer, come and see the Tarines and Abondance cows being milked by Yves. After a short walk accessible to the whole family, visit the mountain pasture and meet the farmer, with lots of explanations.
On the family-friendly "Savoy Cheese Route", meet the farmer and his Abondance cows, who live year-round in the mountains.
They'll share with you their passion for their day-to-day work, managing the herd, the mountain pasture and the farm all year round... but I'll leave it to them to tell you more about it.
Landscape reading, explanations of the importance of the three main elements that make up the richness of the succulent milk and Beaufort we'll be tasting on the mountain pasture among the cows.
Several types of Beaufort cheese, the particularities of their production and the history of this ancestral tradition since the Neolithic period, the Middle Ages and its evolution up to the present day will be commented on.
Welcome to my hikes and see you soon for new discoveries. Yves
