Description
Observe the fabulous life of marmots, who nap in the sun after a meal of fresh grass, call out at the slightest alarm and hide in their burrows. You'll learn all about their biology from Yves, a mountain leader based in Albiez.
From spring to autumn, you can observe these small mammals living as a family in their burrows. As daylight shortens, their metabolism changes and they enter a hibernation phase.
During the summer months, as soon as they emerge from their burrows, they can be observed. Curious, playful, they jostle, roll, run and at the slightest change, or shadow, they call out to warn their fellow creatures in order to hide from predators.
As an observer for many years, Yves will show you their life, their habits, and everything that makes up the life of a marmot on a daily basis and over the course of a year.
Welcome to my hikes and see you soon for new discoveries. Yves
