Projection "Yintah" - Chemin des toiles

Synopsis: In British Columbia (Canada), since the early 2010s, the Wet’suwet’en have been resisting the construction of multiple pipelines that threaten to illegally cross their ancestral territory. Filmed over more than a decade, *Yintah* focuses specifically on the struggle of two Wet’suwet’en women who are as determined as they are inspiring. Directors: Jennifer Wickham, Brenda Michell, and Michael Toldeano Yintah Film Ltd - 2024 - 110 min --- Chemin des toiles: Since 2015, through the Chemins des toiles event, Savoie et Haute-Savoie Biblio has established itself as a major player in the documentary film scene in Savoie and Haute-Savoie, notably by organizing, throughout the month of November, film screenings and meet-and-greets between filmmakers and library audiences. Through creative documentary cinema, viewers are invited to open themselves up to the unique journeys of men and women—from here and elsewhere— to share in their joys and struggles, their strengths and weaknesses, and to accompany them throughout the screening—and even long afterward—as they can leave a lasting impression on us. “Chemins des toiles” features a main selection of 7 films and a supplementary selection of 7 films. For this 11th edition, of the 73 scheduled screenings, 43 will take place in the presence of the director or a contributor to the film (editor, technician, producer, protagonist, etc.), allowing for rich discussions and fascinating exchanges.
