The Col du Chaussy is a must for cycling enthusiasts.
Whether you’re coming from the legendary Montvernier switchbacks or accessing it via Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne or La Chambre, each ascent offers a sporting challenge, with gradients averaging 7-10% and spectacular views.
For road cyclists, the col can also be part of longer tours, such as the Col du Chaussy and Col de la Madeleine, which offer up to 80km of mountain biking and 2,350m of climbing. At the summit, the view of the Lauzière massif, the Cheval Noir and Mont-Blanc rewards every effort. It’s the perfect place to take on one of the most iconic climbs in the Alps.
