Col du bonnet prêtre

The Col du Bonnet du Prêtre itinerary is aimed at experienced hikers in search of a challenging and authentic route. The long, physical ascent alternates between forest paths, steep slopes and more mineral terrain as altitude increases. Progress requires stamina and sure footedness, particularly in the aerial sectors where the equipment in place makes crossing easier without detracting from the challenging nature of the climb. Throughout the ascent, the hike reveals an unspoilt mountain atmosphere: alpine pastures dotted with traditional chalets, vast wild spaces and a marked sense of isolation. The arrival at the pass is well worth the effort, offering a spectacular view of the surrounding landscape, with its towering peaks, deep valleys and glacial horizon.
