This pleasant family-friendly loop follows the Balcony Trail to Le Replat, a beautiful viewpoint overlooking the surrounding mountains. Forest paths, mountain streams and traditional hamlets make for an enjoyable outing.
This family-friendly hike offers a varied loop through the landscapes and heritage of the Vallée des Villards. Starting from the village centre of Saint-Alban-des-Villards, the trail climbs towards the Croix des Charrières before following the stream along its right bank through a cool and wooded environment. The route then reaches the area of La Moletta and gradually climbs towards the Chalets du Replat. This scenic spot provides an excellent place to rest or enjoy a picnic while taking in wide-ranging views of the surrounding mountain ranges. The hike continues towards Premier Villard along a pleasant shaded path. The return to Saint-Alban-des-Villards follows the Chemin des Moulins, where hikers can discover the remains of a former sawmill and watermill once powered by the nearby stream. This accessible and varied circuit is ideal for families wishing to combine nature, mountain scenery and local heritage.
