Description

Classified as a difficult hike, De la tour à Montvernier combines technical difficulty with panoramic views. Forests, ridges overlooking the Aiguilles d'Arves, Savoyard villages and the Bérold tower, a 9th-century jewel, line the route.
Designed for experienced hikers, De la Tour à Montvernier is a demanding hike, with a combination of steep gradients and varied terrain. Regular climbs in the undergrowth give way to more aerial, sometimes narrow trails, requiring attention and endurance. Orientation remains intuitive, but requires good reading of the signs. The route passes through authentic Savoyard villages before reaching the Bérold tower, a medieval edifice from the IXᵉ century set on a strategic promontory. This highlight of the local heritage marks an ideal pause before the rest of the itinerary. The hike is suitable for walkers with previous experience.
