This pleasant walk links several of Saint-Colomban-des-Villards’ traditional hamlets, offering an enjoyable introduction to the valley’s heritage, mountain scenery and local way of life.
This easy walk provides an excellent opportunity to discover some of the most characteristic hamlets of Saint-Colomban-des-Villards while exploring the history and heritage of the valley. Starting from La Perrière, the route first reaches the hamlet of La Chal, home to the Chapelle Saint-Roch and its remarkable listed wrought-iron gate. The walk then crosses the Glandon stream and passes through the area known as Les Moulins, recalling the former water-powered activities that once played an important role in local life. Continuing towards Valmaure, visitors can admire traditional mountain architecture and the authentic character of one of the valley’s main hamlets. The route then leads to Les Roches, offering pleasant views of the surrounding forests and peaks along the way. Accessible to all, this circuit is an ideal introduction to the Vallée des Villards, combining rural heritage, mountain landscapes and the charm of traditional Alpine villages.
