Starting from the Col du Glandon, this enjoyable loop crosses open alpine pastures and leads to the Col de Bellard, a superb viewpoint overlooking the surrounding peaks of Belledonne and the Grandes Rousses range.
Beginning at the Col du Glandon, this pleasant loop explores the wide alpine meadows of the Longe Combe area in a bright and open mountain setting. The ascent to the Col de Bellard follows gentle grassy slopes dotted with small streams and traditional grazing areas. Throughout the climb, hikers enjoy beautiful views over Lac de Grand’Maison, the Col de la Combe and the surrounding mountain landscapes. As the pass comes into sight, the panorama expands towards the Grandes Rousses massif, revealing the Pic de l’Étendard and its glacier. At an altitude of 2,233 metres, the Col de Bellard offers outstanding views across neighbouring valleys and the peaks that rise between the Maurienne and Oisans regions. The descent explores the opposite side of the valley before returning towards the departmental road and the alpine pastures below the Col du Glandon. An enjoyable hike that provides a true high-mountain atmosphere without any major technical difficulties.
