From the Col du Chaussy, right in the middle of the alpine pastures, the view of the Aiguilles d'Arves in the distance is so beautiful that it gives you the zest to head for the heights.
We walk for a while in the pleasant coolness of the undergrowth. When we reach the alpine pastures, we enjoy the peace and quiet of the mountains, and the sound of the sheep's bells sets the pace.
Then, as the climb progresses, the atmosphere becomes more mineral. This is the playground of ibex and chamois. With a little luck and a lot of observation, you might even spot one grazing on a sunny patch of grass.
We are privileged guests in this wild, unspoilt world, whose exceptional flora enchants us with every step.
The climb continues towards the summit, accompanied by a magnificent view, all the way to the finish. There, the reward for the day's efforts awaits us: a splendid 360° panorama between Maurienne and Tarentaise, dominated by Mont-Blanc.
