The Haut des Bottières trail

The Sentier du Haut offers a wonderful immersion in the unspoilt landscapes of the Maurienne. This challenging but accessible route will appeal to snowshoe enthusiasts looking for moderate effort and high-altitude panoramas. From the outset, the route rises steadily through pine and larch forests, at times revealing superb views of the Aiguilles d'Arves and the Maurienne valley. The steady, well-marked ascent soon gets you into a comfortable walking rhythm. Arrival at the top of the trail rewards walkers with a remarkable panorama of the Vanoise massif and surrounding ridges. On a clear day, the winter light sublimates the relief and offers a grandiose spectacle.
