In the heart of the Maurienne valley, the Espace Nordique du Grand Coin hostels are a must for cross-country skiers and Nordic walkers.
Located at the start of the slopes, they are easily accessible from La Chambre and Saint-François-Longchamp in the case of one, and from Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne in the case of the other.
These centres will be happy to provide you with information and equipment so that you can make the most of your Nordic day.

The Nordic fireplace Du Chaussy

Located on the Col du Chaussy, at an altitude of 1,533 metres, the Foyer Nordique du Chaussy is an ideal base from which to discover the Grand Coin Nordic area from Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne.

At the foot of the cross-country ski runs, snowshoe itineraries andtoboggan area, the foyer offers essential services: reception, ski pass sales and equipment hire. Designed for families and sports enthusiasts alike, it offers a warm and practical place to enjoy the day.

Adjacent to the Auberge du Chaussy, you can enjoy a meal or a drink all winter long, with a large sunny terrace offering uninterrupted views of the Aiguilles d’Arves.

A traditional Lappish refuge The Finnish kota

Out of sight, below the slopes, a little Finnish wonder stands among the larches: the Finnish kota.

Open all year round, this traditional wooden hut is much more than just a shelter: it’s a place to meet, enjoy food and warmth in the heart of the forest.

In winter, it complements the Nordic fireplaces on the estate by providing an additional stopping-off point for cross-country skiers and walkers.
The kota is accessible from all the access points to the ski area, whether you are coming from the Col du Chaussy, Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne or Bonvillard from La Chambre or Saint-François-Longchamp.
