Tour of Mount Falcon - Stage 3 - Hiking Trail

Elevation : 2157m
Chalet du perron, 73300 Albiez-Montrond

Description

This stage of the Mont Falcon itinerary links the Chalet du Perron to the Col du Mollard. Long but not technically demanding, it crosses the wild Val Froide valley before climbing back up to the pass to discover the hidden treasures of the area.
This stage alternates between panoramic crossings and more confidential passages. From the Chalet du Perron, the route first follows mountain pasture paths offering wide views of the surrounding landscape. The route then turns towards the Val Froide valley, where the atmosphere becomes much wilder. The path winds its way between alpine meadows, wetlands and small rocky outcrops, in a little-visited area that retains a very natural character. After this immersion in the valley, the route gradually changes slope and begins the ascent towards the Col du Mollard. Progress is made along a succession of paths and more open passages, revealing a number of features typical of the area: ancient pastoral paths, reliefs shaped by erosion and beautiful views of the surrounding ridges. The final, steady climb takes you back to the Col du Mollard and a more open landscape. This is a mountain itinerary. You need to be well equipped and experienced in the mountains before embarking on this tour. Reservations essential.
